A Wawa gas station is planned as part of redevelopment of a corner of Rosery Road and Missouri Avenue.

A Wawa convenience and gas station is planned as part of the redevelopment of a corner of Rosery Road and Missouri Avenue.

The proposed 6,119 square foot convenience store would also have gas pumps. It would be built at 1215 Missouri Ave, the northwest corner of Missouri Avenue and Rosery Road near where the bank is, according to city officials.

Residents from nearby properties were concerned about traffic on Rosery Road and the designation of a pond planned as part of the project at a Neighborhood Compatibility Meeting Aug. 29, according to city officials.

A traffic study is being finalized regarding impact the station would have on two-lane Rosery Road. The planned pond is for water detention not retention.

The intersection is expected to undergo a lot of change in the next couple of years.

Plans to redevelop Midway Shopping Center, near where the Wawa would be, include bringing in a TJ Maxx, LA Fitness and Dollar Tree.

A Walmart Supercenter is planned for the southeast corner, where the Kmart was. Construction of that store is expected to start in November.
