Shark Attacks Largo Fisherman

'I felt this shark grab my leg, and the ripping sound, and when I turned around the water was filled with blood.'

A Largo man apparently was attacked by a shark while spearfishing in the Bahamas.

WTSP.com is reporting that Eric Norrie is recovering in a Miami hospital after a shark ripped a chunk of flesh from his leg.

Norrie told WTSP.com: "I felt this shark grab my leg, and the ripping sound, and when I turned around the water was filled with blood."

Norrie said he watched as the 6-foot-long creature swam off with "a piece of my leg in his mouth."

"I got a look at him when he swam away with a piece of my leg in his mouth," said Norrie.

Norrie is no stranger to the Atlantic Ocean, and regularly posts videos of his adventures on YouTube. He posted this accompanying video just about a year ago, when he landed a shark on a fishing trip.

Norrie said he swam back to the boat, then tied a tourniquet around his leg before calling for help.
