Local Student Shines on Spanish Kids Version of 'The Voice'

Angela Rodriguez just finished the eighth grade at Seminole Middle School in Largo. Now she's starring on a reality singing competition on Telemundo.

A former Seminole Middle School student is a finalist on "La Voz Kids," a Spanish-language kids version of the NBC reality show "The Voice."

Angela Rodriguez, 14, just completed eighth grade at Seminole Middle and will attend Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School in the fall, according to Pinellas County Schools.

Rodriguez is one of 18 finalists on the show, which airs at 8 p.m. on Sundays. The public will be able to vote online to decide who will advance in the singing competition.

The winner receives a recording contract and a cash prize to continue his or her education.
