After a career in sales, management, writing and reporting, I have learned that relationships are the heart of the business of journalism, as well as business in general.
My belief is that effective communication is not only in the mechanics of language, but something more. Success in journalism(and business) lies in both informing and engaging the audience.
When people connect with a subject—using all the tools at your disposal—success will follow. That is the heart of relationships, and is the key to all business, especially journalism.
I have developed my reporting, research and editing skills at the Journalism/Mass Communications Program at the University of South Florida Saint Petersburg.
