A Clearwater man is accused of battering a woman and trying to take her purse at a Largo apartment complex, Largo Police report.
A Clearwater man is accused of attempting to steal his ex-girlfriend's purse, grabbing her hair and her body, pushing and punching her, Largo Police said. According to an arrest affidavit, David Michael Eustace, 36, was sitting in the car of a Largo apartment complex Jan. 28 with his ex-girlfriend, who reportedly owed Eustace money. When the woman tried to get out of the car, Eustace allegedly "chased after her and attempted to rip her purse off of her shoulder in an effort to get her money. (Eustace) then proceeded to batter the victim by grabbing her hair and pushing her in an effort to get the purse," police report. The suspect's ex-girlfriend ran up the stairs. The two were charged with strong arm robbery Jan. 9 at the Bealls Department Store in Largo, according to Largo Police.
A couple is accused of grabbing, punching, biting and scratching an employee of Bealls Department Store at the Largo Mall during a robbery attempt Jan. 9, according to Largo Police. Trevor Lee Groat, 38, of Pinellas Park, is accused of taking $195 of merchandise from the retailer. Jade Louise Stein, 28, of St. Petersburg also allegedly took $85 worth of money or property from the store, according to police. As the two left the retailer, police said, they were confronted by the store's loss prevention officer. The duo tried to get away from the employee, and in the process Stein allegedly bit, scratched, punched "and at one point grabb(ed) the victim's testicles," according to arrest affidavits. Daryl Michael Taylor, 25, of Largo, was arrested and charged with attempted strong arm robbery, according to an arrest affidavit.
When a Largo man didn't get an answer to his offer to buy a bicycle from its owner, he tried to take it, Largo Police say. The victim was on Clearwater-Largo Road with his 18-speed bike early Monday morning, according to an arrest affidavit. That's when Daryl Michael Taylor, 25, asked the victim if the bike was for sale. The victim ignored the offer, and so Taylor crossed the road and asked again if the bike was for sale, according to the arrest affidavit. "The victim told (Taylor) no and then the defendant grabbed the back rear tire of the bike in an attempt to take the bike.
