Ulmerton Road Reopens to Traffic After Reported Gas Leak
The Largo roadway had been shut down Tuesday near Tall Pines Drive as officials investigated a gas leak.
Ulmerton Road has reopened to traffic following a temporary closure because of a reported gas leak, Largo Police said. The roadway had been shut down Tuesday near Tall Pines Drive in Largo as Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies and other authorities arrived at the scene. Largo Fire Rescue responded to reports of a natural gas leak in the area of Ulmerton and Wild Acre roads, according to a post on Largo Fire Rescue's Facebook page. While on the way, dispatch let the firefighters know "a construction crew had struck a large gas line and there was an active leak. The first units arrived within 3 minutes of dispatch and determined that a 4-inch line was struck and there was a need to shut down the area to vehicular and pedestrian traffic," …
