That number, according to the Florida Lottery, tops the previous $587.5 million Powerball record jackpot set in November 2012. With $360 million on the line in tonight’s Powerball drawing, there’s little doubt that many Largo residents plan to tune in to catch the winning numbers as they’re announced around 11 p.m. Lottery retailers throughout the Tampa Bay area have been touting the drawing as the jackpot has climbed millions over the last few days. Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $260 million. The drawing will be tonight at 10:59 p.m. “When jackpots are on the rise, both loyal Powerball players and new players purchase tickets for their chance to become Powerball’s next big winner,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell in a news release. “The excitement and anticipation is felt throughout the nation leading up to the drawing. Even if the jackpot is not hit, we can still expect to see nearly one million winners nationwide of cash prizes ranging from $4.00 to $2 million," O'Connell added.
