Sara Rivera, 49, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated domestic battery after using a screwdriver in a fight over beer money, according to Largo Police.
A Largo woman used a screwdriver to stab a victim in an argument over beer money, according to police. Sara Rivera, 49, got into a fight with the victim about his use of money on a debit card to buy more beer around 6 p.m. April 28, according to Largo Police. The argument escalated, with Rivera and the victim both hitting each other, Rivera's daughter said in the police report. During the fight, Rivera picked up a screwdriver and stabbed the victim in the back of the head and right arm, causing minor injuries, according to the investigators. A Largo woman kicked out of Mako's Bar yelled, caused a scene and kicked a Largo Police officer in the groin, according to investigators. Michele Lorraine Leppert, who uses the last name Bowman as an alias, was causing a disturbance at the Walsingham Road bar April 19, according to Largo Police. A bouncer at Mako's Bar tried to remove Leppert from the bar, according to arrest records. As the bouncer took her outside, Leppert hit him and continued to yell obscenities, according to investigators. Leppert was put into custody and continued to yell and "cause a scene," police say. A Largo man was arrested and charged with child pornography after investigators discovered thousands of digital images of prepubescent girls on his laptop, according to Largo Police. A "cyber-tip" from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children directed investigators to David Scott Stuart, 27, who was arrested and charged with 15 counts of child pornography by Largo Police on April 16. Stuart admitted to intentionally downloading, viewing and possessing more than 100 and less than 1,000 child pornography images over the course of several months, according to investigators. The 10th annual Cops for the Cause charity softball game is at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Bright House Field. Proceeds benefit the children of Deanna Mendoza, a victim of domestic violence.
Regardless of the outcome, the winner of the 10th annual Cops for the Cause charity softball game will not be either team on the field. Proceeds from the game benefit the children of Deanna Mendoza, a victim of domestic violence, who was found killed in a murder-suicide in January near Carrollwood. Mendoza worked as a dispatch trainer for the Tampa Police Department since 2009. She had three children Ricky, Cristina and Cailee. Twenty-nine people were arrested as part of a major investigation and roundup of illegal drugs and firearms that were being distributed from a Largo apartment, authorities said Thursday. Teams from Largo Police and Clearwater Police partnered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to execute a search warrant Monday at 908 Beverly Ave. in Largo, where officials said several firearms and narcotics had been purchased. Largo Police had begun an investigation in the area of Beverly Avenue and Clearwater-Largo Road in October 2012 following tips from the community about narcotics activity there. A Largo man faces 16 counts of possessing child pornography, police said Tuesday. Largo Police said it received a "cyber tip" last month generated by the National Center for Missing Exploited Children that the man was in possession of child porn. David Scott Stuart, 27, who resides in the 1100 block of Melody Lane, was arrested Tuesday following a joint investigation by Largo Police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, officials said. Stuart was being held in Pinellas County Jail on $5,000 bond Tuesday night and awaiting trial. A man accused of robbing three Largo businesses in the past two days at knifepoint on an apparent county-wide crime spree is behind bars after authorities said he rammed a deputy's cruiser in Dunedin on Tuesday.
