A heated argument over a family car turned violent when a convicted felon pulled a gun out and threatened a woman, according to authorities in Largo.

A heated argument over a family car turned violent earlier this month in Largo when a convicted felon pulled a gun on a woman, cocked the trigger, and it placed it on the victim's chest. Samuel Maldonado, who was previously arrested for DWI, battery, arson, and violation of probation on a lewd and lascivious child abuse battery charge, is accused of aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm for an incident that occurred on May 1st in Largo. According to the police report, Maldonado, 44, got into a dispute over the car when the victim left the defendant's house on Strema Road in Largo with her daughter in tow. Alleged Tape Measure Tosser Charged with Throwing Deadly Missile at Vehicle

Nicholas James Stadtler of Indian Shores was recently arrested following the April 3 incident at Largo Mall, according to Largo Police.

An Indian Shores man was recently arrested after he allegedly tossed a tape measure at a truck and attacked the driver at the Largo Mall on April 3. Arrest records show Nicholas James Stadtler, 34, was standing outside a vehicle parked in front of Famous Footwear at the mall when he began yelling at another driver to go around his vehicle. As the other vehicle drove around Stadtler's, he threw a metal Stanley measuring tape at the victim's truck, striking the back window and damaging the glass, according to a Largo Police report. After the elderly victim got out of the vehicle, police say Stadtler struck and kicked the victim to the ground, injuring the man. Nathaniel Dane Bragg, 29, stole a checkbook from an elderly man to write himself nearly $2,000 worth of forged checks, according to the Largo Police Department.

A Largo man stole a checkbook from an elderly man to write himself nearly $2,000 worth of forged checks, according to Largo Police. Nathaniel Dane Bragg, 29, was arrested and charged with forgery, grand theft and grand theft from a person over the age of 65 on April 23, according to Largo Police Department records. He also was charged with violation of parole stemming from a prior DUI arrest, according to the police report. Bragg admitted to stealing a checkbook from an unnamed victim, forging the victim's signature on 13 separate checks and making them out to himself; he also admitted to cashing $1,810 worth of checks at a local bank, according to investigators. Beer Money Brawl Leads to Screwdriver Stabbing

Sara Rivera, 49, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated domestic battery after using a screwdriver in a fight over beer money, according to Largo Police.

A Largo woman used a screwdriver to stab a victim in an argument over beer money, according to police. Sara Rivera, 49, got into a fight with the victim about his use of money on a debit card to buy more beer around 6 p.m. April 28, according to Largo Police. The argument escalated, with Rivera and the victim both hitting each other, Rivera's daughter said in the police report. During the fight, Rivera picked up a screwdriver and stabbed the victim in the back of the head and right arm, causing minor injuries, according to the investigators. Blood was found on the floor of the Jasper Street apartment, and Rivera attempted to clean up another area of blood, according to police. A Largo woman kicked out of Mako's Bar yelled, caused a scene and tried to kick a Largo Police officer in the groin, according to investigators.

A Largo woman kicked out of Mako's Bar yelled, caused a scene and kicked a Largo Police officer in the groin, according to investigators. Michele Lorraine Leppert, who uses the last name Bowman as an alias, was causing a disturbance at the Walsingham Road bar April 19, according to Largo Police.  A bouncer at Mako's Bar tried to remove Leppert from the bar, according to arrest records. As the bouncer took her outside, Leppert hit him and continued to yell obscenities, according to investigators.  Leppert was put into custody and continued to yell and "cause a scene," police say. A number of Pinellas County police departments and law enforcement agencies took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Florida on Tuesday. Officials from three area departments — Largo and Pinellas Park police and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office — participated in the statewide event, which began locally in St. Petersburg and ended in Tarpon Springs.  Two Largo PD officers who carried the torch between Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School and the Bayside Bridge told Patch what it means to be part of such an important event. “This is the third or fourth one I’ve done,” officer Amanda Misner said at the conclusion of her leg. “It’s a good cause, so we come out to support it.” Largo K9 officer Jason Misner said even…

UPDATE: Man Opens Fire in Largo Office, Shoots Self, Police Say

The suspect entered the lobby of an office complex on Lightwave Drive, began shooting at the lobby doors and windows, then shot himself in the abdomen, Largo Police said.

Update, 1:10 p.m.: Police have identified the man who they say fired several rounds at the windows and doors of a Largo office building lobby Wednesday morning, then shot himself in the abdomen in an apparent suicide attempt. According to Largo Police, Fred Michael Sumner, 52, entered the lobby of the BayView Pavillion Office Business Complex, 1550 Lighwave Dr., just before 9:30 a.m., pulled a semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and begin firing at the windows and doors. "He did not aim or threaten anyone in the lobby area," Largo Police Lt. Mike Loux said in a media release.
