A Largo driver received minor injuries in a Pasco County crash with one fatality. The accident occurred around 11:25 a.m, May 11, according to Florida Highway Patrol. According to authorities, Ty A. Wymore, 44, of Largo, was driving a 2005 Chevy Pickup south on Pasco County Road 77 near Baillie Road, when a 2006 Buick drove into the path of his vehicle, which reportedly caused the truck to collide with the right side of the Buick, officials said. The Buick's driver, Rosalie Daubin, 83, of Holiday, died. The Buick's passenger, Elaine Dunn, 84, of Holiday, was transported with serious injuries to Northside Hospital, officials report. The boy was outside a crosswalk when he was hit Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 15-year-old Largo boy was seriously injured after he was struck by a car while crossing 66th Street North in Pinellas Park on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The teenager was crossing south of 90th Avenue North and was outside the crosswalk when he walked into the path of a 2003 Hyundai Sonata headed south, according to the highway patrol's preliminary investigation. The accident happened around 12:19 p.m. Wednesday. The teen was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg with serious injuries, authorities said. Authorities have identified a Tampa woman who died after being struck by a car while crossing Ulmerton Road in Largo earlier this week. Marcella Brydon Moore, 66, was attempting to cross Ulmerton at the intersection of 49th Street around 9:44 p.m. Monday when she was hit by a 1988 Ford Mustang headed east, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The woman was east of the crosswalk when she was hit, investigators said. She was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where she died from her injuries the next morning, according to the highway patrol. The 32-year-old Clearwater woman was charged in connection with an October crash near the Bayside Bridge and Roosevelt Boulevard in which a passenger was partially ejected from her car and died, investigators said.
A Clearwater woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter in connection with an October accident in which a passenger in her car was killed, authorities said Monday. Veronica Herrera, 32, had just exited the Bayside Bridge shortly after 3 a.m. last Oct. 27 when the accident occurred, Florida Highway Patrol investigators said. She was headed south on County Road 611 just north of Roosevelt Boulevard when she failed to handle a curve and left the roadway, traveling into the median. Herrera's 2006 Nissan Altima struck some landscaping before entering the roadway's northbound lanes. A Largo man was killed when his motorcycle struck a car Wednesday night at Seminole Boulevard and Walsingham Road, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. According to FHP investigators, Michael Evan Schneider, 19, was headed north on Seminole Boulevard at around 6:30 p.m. when he hit a Chevy Cavalier that was coming from the opposite direction and turning left into the Seminole Center Plaza at Walsingham Road. Schneider was thrown from his Suzuki motorcycle and sustained critical injuries. He later died at Largo Medical Center, authorities said. The number of traffic crashes in Pinellas County dropped by 19 percent last year, from 13,450 in 2010 to 10,882 in 2011. A total of three teen drivers or their passengers, ages 15 to 19, were killed in motor vehicle accidents in Pinellas in 2011. Ten bicyclists were killed while trying to navigate Pinellas roadways. These are just a few of the numbers released in the state Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' "2011 Florida Crash Statistics Report." The report was just released this week by the state and includes a variety of information related to roadway safety throughout Florida and in Pinellas County. While Pinellas saw a big drop in its crash numbers, the state also witnessed a decline in fatalities, the report says. In …

The St. Petersburg man was struck by a car driven by a Largo woman Oct. 22 and died from his injuries Nov. 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A bicyclist from St. Petersburg who was struck by a car at a Largo intersection last month has died, authorities said. Thomas Gregory Hirsch, 58, was crossing Bryan Dairy Road at Starkey Road on Oct. 22 when he was struck by a Pontiac Vibe that was headed westbound on Bryan Dairy, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Although he was in the crosswalk, Hirsch "entered into the path" of the car and violated the driver's right of way, FHP investigators said. Hirsch was ejected from his bike and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he died more than a week later, on Nov. 1. Christian Nicholas Reimer was headed north on Interstate 75 in Pasco County when his car left the roadway, crashed into a tree and overturned, authorities said.
A 21-year-old Largo man was killed when his car hit a tree and overturned on the side of a Pasco County roadway early Thursday morning, authorities said. Christian Nicholas Reimer was headed north on Interstate 75, just south of State Road 52, at about 12:50 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Reimer's Pontiac Grand Am traveled into the center grass lane "for unknown reasons," investigators said, at which point he over-corrected to the right. His car traveled back across the northbound lanes and onto the outside grass shoulder, where it crashed into a tree and overturned. Reimer suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, the FHP reports. The incident remains under investigation.
