The Barack Obama campaign volunteers in Pinellas County were overjoyed by the fact that their hard work for the presidential run paid off.
When the election was called in favor of President Barack Obama, the celebration started at the campaign office in St. Petersburg. "We won Pinellas County and we won the entire country. It's just amazing," said Mallory Stewart Robison, an Obama campaign volunteer. Obama's re-election didn't come as a given for any of the campaign workers, who put in months of hard work promoting Obama's mission, Stewart Robison said. "I've been (at the campaign office) so much, and it's hard to believe that it's actually over," Steward Robison said. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. Florida votes were still too close to call Tuesday night, but Obama won the majority of votes in Pinellas County.

Gov. Mitt Romney and his supporters continued to tout his strong debate performance from Wednesday night, in hopes to build momentum before the November election.
Off the heels of a strong debate performance Wednesday, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney hammered home his plan Friday at St. Pete Pier Park in front of thousands of supporters. “I enjoyed that debate a couple nights ago,” Romney said with a big smile. He said he was able to ask the president directly about his "failed" jobs and economic policies. He said if Obama is re-elected and the current debt rate continues, “That would be $20 trillion, if he would be re-elected,” Romney said. “That would put in jeopardy the American Dream. I’m going to make sure we cut and cap federal (spending)." Klutho, a frequent speaker at government meetings, stood with a stack of protest signs to greet Ann Romney, wife of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney. Kiely Allen, a mother of seven and small business owner, went to see Ann Romney speak in Largo on Wednesday.
Kiely Allen is at a crossroads. Allen is involved in politics for the first time because she believes this year's election is important in shaping the country’s future. She does not agree with the policy and mindset that's developed in the country over the last four years. That is why she came to see Ann Romney speak at the Largo Community Center Wednesday afternoon as she campaigned on behalf of her husband, Mitt Romney. “I’ve never been to anything like this before,” Allen said as she walked across the parking lot toward the front doors after parking black Mercedes SUV. “Nothing on the presidential level.” Allen lives in Harbor Oaks and found out about the speech in an email from the Women For Mitt group.
