Customer Cuts Customer, Refuses to Pay $32 Bar Tab, Police Say

The Largo Police Department arrested two men early Monday morning after an incident at Sportscasters Bar & Grill, where a customer was injured and a door was broken over an unpaid bar tab, according to an arrest affidavit.

A customer received several minor cuts and lacerations after coming to the aid of a Sportscasters Bar & Grill employee who was trying to collect a bar tab from two other patrons early Monday morning, according to a police report. When Victor Lee Brown and William Cullen Thomas left after allegedly not paying their $32 bar tab, an employee followed them into the parking lot, Largo Police said. A customer got into a verbal argument with Brown, who then got a knife and screwdriver out of his vehicle, according to an arrest affidavit. Then Brown became "the agressor toward (the customer) causing several minor cuts and lacerations. (The customer) retreated into the bar," according to the affidavit. Customer Urinates on Floor, Refuses to Pay $35 Bar Tab, Police Say

The Largo Police Department was called Thursday afternoon when a customer refused to pay his bill at the Fat Cat Tavern in Clearwater.

Three Largo Police Department officers found Mark Anthony Brienza, 46, sitting at a table at Fat Cat Tavern on U.S. 19 in Clearwater on Thursday afternoon. The problem: Brienza allegedly would not pay his $35 tab. Instead, when asked to pay up he reportedly urinated on the bar's floor, said Largo Police Lt. Mike Loux. According to officers, Brienza got louder, refused to walk with officers, spit, and ended up kicking an officer in the groin, Loux said. Brienza, of Dunedin, was arrested on charges of petit theft, disorderly conduct, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and an outstanding warrant from Hillsborough County for possession of cocaine.
