The group Valentine's Day wedding celebration, officiated by the Pinellas Clerk of the Circuit Court, gathered 30 couples to take the plunge into matrimony, although the ceremony had to be moved indoors due to rain.
Thirty couples gathered together in the conference room of the Florida Botanical Gardens to exhange vows of matrimony this past Valentine's Day. The Pinellas County tradition has been going on for seven years, but it was a little different this time around. Normally, the mass wedding takes place among the beautiful foilage of the botanical gardens, but the ceremony was moved inside due to the rain. While some couples did the wedding on a whim after years together, some did the wedding because of the efficiency of having the wedding planned and inexpensive. Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court, announced that couples will be joined together for a group wedding ceremony on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the romantic Wedding Garden at the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo. This is the seventh year the Clerk’s Office is hosting this event, which has become a county tradition. Forty couples said "I do" at a special Valentine's Day ceremony at the Florida Botanical Gardens.
For the sixth year, the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court hosted a group wedding at the Florida Botanical Gardens. This year, 47 couples signed up for the wedding, and 40 couples had checked in by the start of the 2 p.m. wedding. Sixth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Thomas Minkoff officiated and called marriage "supreme sharing." The couples enjoyed musical serenades by the Charmonizers Barbershop Quartet. Deputy Clerk Linda Brian sang the "Wedding Song." Couples picked the group wedding for various reasons.
