Top Headlines: Sports Shack, Wawa, Mass Wedding, Touch-a-Truck in Largo

OK, so you had a busy week. We understand. Let us catch you up on all the highlights from Largo Patch!

The Missouri Avenue eatery boasts enough food and drink deals to make any fan, or family, happy. The group Valentine's Day wedding celebration, officiated by the Pinellas Clerk of the Circuit Court, gathered 30 couples to take the plunge into matrimony, although the ceremony had to be moved indoors due to rain. City leaders added about 4,520 square feet, considered easement, as part of plans for the city’s first Wawa convenience store, coming soon to Ulmerton Road. Realtor and Patch blogger Becky Paone isn't a fan of the West Bay location for a recently approved Chase Bank. Largo's Sports Shack Sporting New Hours, Specials

The Missouri Avenue eatery boasts enough food and drink deals to make any fan, or family, happy.

The Sports Shack has undergone a number of changes since Gregg Petrakis originally opened it as the Red Room in 2008.  Following a brief separation, the co-owner of the popular Largo Subs regained control of the restaurant from his business partners and reopened it as the Sports Shack nearly two years ago.  Today Petrakis’ place has undergone another, albeit minor, change as he decided to shorten the hours and eliminate lunches during the week. But a couple staples remain: excellent food and exceptional service. “We make our own pizza dough, make our own sauce, make our own salsa, make our own chicken tenders, using all top-quality ingredients,” Petrakis said. “It’s not your typical sports bar food. “And all the girls we have working here …

The outside deck is an awesome place for hanging out and watching sports as it is well shaded and the fans keep it very comfortable year round.The food and drink specials are great and the staff is top notch.And though it is located not far off a busy road,traffic and road noise are barely noticed because of the great landscaping surrounding the deck.   more ›
