Bayhead Skate Park Plans Approved
Largo's skate park will be reconstructed at the Bayhead Complex off of Seminole Boulevard.
The design and construction of a skate park at the Bayhead Complex was approved on Nov. 20. Last December the Largo City Commission approved relocating the city's skate park to the Bayhead Complex because of construction at the Highland Recreation Center. It will take about eight weeks to construct the park, Largo Parks Superintendent Greg Brown said. The approximately 12,000-square-foot skate park will be designed for bikes and skateboarders. It will be located just north of the basketball courts at the Bayhead Complex. The park will have several new concrete features, including a dry swimming pool, which is one of the "hottest" items out there, Brown said.
