Nearly Thirty Dogs Need a Home at Pinellas Animal Shelter

The Pinellas County Animal Shelter has almost 30 dogs who could use a home with you.

These are all the dogs that are currently up for adoption at Pinellas County Animal Services. They all need to find that special home with someone who will love them, just as they love people. If you see a dog you want to adopt, make sure to head down to Animal Services. If that dog has already been adopted, make sure you take a good look at all the dogs available. You never know when you might be surprised. How to Adopt The dogs are ready to go to their forever home. Adoption costs are $40, but include the first set of shots, spaying or neutering, a collar and leash, a bag of food and a toy for the dog. We've attached an adoption form (PDF) to make it easy. Tracking Animals By the Numbers in Pinellas County

Local animal agencies have developed a shared reporting system to help reduce the number of animals euthanized in the county.

The fluffy orange cat at Pinellas County Animal Services purred loudly and persistently. Perhaps it was aware of the fate of some fellow felines in Pinellas County — at least the story told through the numbers. Cats represented 54 percent of all intakes at several local animal shelters in October. And 69 percent of the cats were euthanized. The numbers come from Humane Society of Pinellas, Pet Pal Animal Shelter, Pinellas County Animal Services and SPCA Tampa Bay, which account for about 80 to 90 percent of the animals received each month, agency representatives said.  The local animal agencies have worked together over several months to establish a consistent reporting system that will let each agency clearly report animal intake and …

Meet Snow White (#289908). She is a seven year old kitty who weighs in at 10 pounds. Fun and playful, she has been waiting a long time for her prince charming to come to the rescue. As an added bonus, people who have cat allergies normally do not react to white colored cats… so, you may want to give her a chance if you have had a reaction in the past.
