Police: DUI and a Monkey

A man traveling with a monkey on East Bay Drive was arrested on the charge of DUI, according to police.

Just after midnight on May 3, the Largo Police Department pulled over a car, which was allegedly traveling at 70 m.p.h down East Bay Drive, according to police. After speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the police observed an unusual occupant in the vehicle. A small monkey was riding in the truck, also, according to police. The driver, Eugene Carl Kotelman, was arrested on the charge of felony DUI. Apparently the 36-year-old man had been arrested on charges previously many times for driving on a suspended license and for DUI, according to police. Kotelman was taken to jail and the monkey went with one of Kotelman's friends, according to police. Kotelman was released on bond around midnight on May 4. But he apparently did not stay out …
