Deputies Deliver Holiday Meals to 63 Families

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Community Policing Unit helped distribute holiday food to families in need.

Ethel Langgath received a welcome holiday present on Dec. 21, when Deputy William Lawson delivered a box filled with a ham and all the trimmings to her Largo home. "It helps me tremendously. I have an 18-month-old great-great granddaughter and an 18-year-old great granddaughter living with me," she said. In its ninth year, a community effort brought holiday meals to 63 families in time for Christmas. Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies in the Community Policing Department delivered the meals to homes in the greater Largo area. The Calvary Episcopal Church, Indian Rocks Beach Rotary Club, and Pinellas Suncoast Fire and Rescue donated money they raised to help with the purchase of the holiday meals.
