After leaving a Largo bar early Friday morning, a woman died after she was ejected out of the back of a truck bed, according to authorities.
A woman died after she was ejected out of the back of a pickup truck after leaving the Watering Trough Bar on 66th Street in Largo early Friday, according to a media release. Russell Allan Clark, 24, had four passengers in his Ford F150 as the group left the bar. Three women, including Lauren Elizabeth Gifford, 23, rode in the back of the pickup truck bed, according to a media release. "Clark began driving erratically, traveling over the 66th Street median and then over a curb in the RaceTrac parking lot," the release states. "The bump over the curb caused the back of the pickup to jump, ejecting Lauren out the back, where she landed on the pavement." Largo Police seek the public's help in identifying a suspect in a Jan. 7 robbery at the Hess Gas station.
Largo Police Department detectives are trying to identify a suspect who is accused of robbing a Hess Gas Station on Jan. 7 Police report that the suspect, described as a black male, brandished a dark-colored, automatic handgun around 10 p.m. at the 2930 East Bay Drive location. The suspect stands about 5-foot-11 and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gloves and mask, police report. Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot. The new 7-Eleven store is now open at 10 North Missouri Ave.
The new 7-Eleven opened Jan. 4. The location is open 24 hours daily. The new convenience store and gas station is located at the busy corner of East Bay Drive and North Missouri Avenue. The 7-Eleven is in the former location of Metro Gas, which was previously a Citgo station. The new store has 7-Eleven's usual line of popular drinks like Big Gulps and Slurpees, plus sandwiches, salads, hot foods and grill products. The 7-Eleven is not the only new gas station in town. Thorntons has more than 166 locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Its first Tampa Bay location opened in early December in Clearwater. Thorntons is coming soon to Largo, according to a sign on the property. The 3,000- to 4,000-square-foot gas station is under construction on the site of a now demolished night club at the intersection of Ulmerton and Starkey roads. The Largo Thorntons is part of the planned expansion of the gas and convenience stores into the Tampa Bay market. The first area store is expected to open this fall in Clearwater.
