1. Bret Michaels concert. The "Get Your Rock on Tour 2012" comes to Largo Friday night at 8 p.m. Bret Michaels is known for being the frontman of Poison, with songs like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." He was also on the NBC TV show "Celebrity Apprentice" in 2010. 2. Walk Like MADD. The walk and 5K benefit Mother's Against Drunk Driving. American Idol finalist Jeremy Rosado will sing and sign autographs. 3. First Friday Oktoberfest. Largo's First Friday this month has an Oktoberfest theme. Did you see the '60s icons in concert Friday? What did you think?
Examiner.com has posted a concert review of Friday's performance by 1960s legends The Zombies at the Largo Cultural Center. Reviewer Ray Shasho wrote that "if you close your eyes you’d swear that you were back in 1964. The entire band was flawless." The British band, which scored hits with singles "She's Not There" and "Tell Her No," was kicking off its 50th anniversary tour of America and played before a packed house Friday.
