New Chase Bank Construction Could Start Soon in Largo

Site plans for the West Bay Drive bank are awaiting city approval before construction can begin, possibly sometime in May.

Construction could soon begin on a Chase Bank at the corner of West Bay Drive and Clearwater-Largo Road, pending city leader approval of the site plans, according to officials. "The applicant just submitted the official site plans to our office, allowing us to revisit the project and make sure everything is in compliance according to code," said Jesus Nino, the city's principal planner, this week. "If everything is good they should be able to start working on it by the middle of May." Nino added he did not have a time frame for the completion of the project. The Largo City Commission approved the plan to build the bank at 801 West Bay Dr. in early February despite the fact that some commissioners expressed reservations about the project…

Chase Bank Plans Approved for West Bay Corner

Initial plans for a Chase Bank in the Pinellas Shopping Center parking lot near the corner of the intersection of West Bay Drive and Clearwater-Largo Road were approved 6-1 by city commissioners Tuesday.

Largo city leaders on Tuesday cleared the way for a proposed Chase Bank to be built near the intersection of West Bay Drive and Clearwater-Largo Road, adjacent to an existing Wells Fargo bank and a parking lot. City commissioners approved an exemption to a two-story building height requirement that is part of the West Bay Drive Community Redevelopment District Plan, voting 6-1 with Commissioner Harriet Crozier in opposition at the city commission meeting Tuesday night. Crozier thought there could be better uses for the undeveloped parking lot. “I just …

Bank Building Planned At West Bay Drive Intersection

Plans are to build a Chase Bank in the Pinellas Shopping Center parking lot near the corner of the intersection of West Bay Drive and Clearwater-Largo Road.

A new bank building could be built out of a West Bay Drive parking lot in downtown Largo. Plans are to build a 4,352-square-foot Chase Bank building in the parking lot area of the Publix at the Pinellas Shopping Center near the corner of the intersection of West Bay Drive and Clearwater-Largo Road. First, city leaders have to sign off on an exemption to a two-story building height requirement that is part of the West Bay Drive Community Redevelopment District Plan at their meeting Tuesday. If approved by city commissioners, the main structure will appear as two stories through the use of a facade transition line. The building will feature architectural designs to give the appearance of a two-story building, a pedestrian connection with …
