The Missouri Avenue eatery boasts enough food and drink deals to make any fan, or family, happy. The group Valentine's Day wedding celebration, officiated by the Pinellas Clerk of the Circuit Court, gathered 30 couples to take the plunge into matrimony, although the ceremony had to be moved indoors due to rain. City leaders added about 4,520 square feet, considered easement, as part of plans for the city’s first Wawa convenience store, coming soon to Ulmerton Road. Realtor and Patch blogger Becky Paone isn't a fan of the West Bay location for a recently approved Chase Bank. The Pie Factory: Sweet Goodness Key Lime Pies: At 71 years old Bobbie Barmore, the passionate key lime pie chef and owner of The Pie Factory in Largo for 20 years, shares her love for key lime pies. The Pie Factory makes an average of 1,500 to 2,000 pies a week which are sold via retail, wholesale and online. There are 35 types of pies on the menu, but key lime is still Barmore's favorite. Diana Shaughnessy, owner of Shaughnessy Nursery and Landscaping in Largo, spent the last few days covering her plants with blankets, sheets and carpet to protect them from the freezing temperatures.
When last year's temperatures dipped into the 30's and stayed there for weeks Diana Shaughnessy lost all of her Christmas Palms. It's a hot landscaping item that brings customers in to her nursery, Shaughnessy Nursery and Landscaping, in Largo. Shaughnessy opted not to replant the Christmas palms. And after Tuesday night's frost and 30-degree cold spell, she was glad she did. "They wouldn't make it," Shaughnessy said, "If this year's winter is as bad as last year they just won't make it." Landscapers spent Monday covering plants with blankets, sheets and even carpet. "Anything that'll make a barrier," Shaughnessy said.
