The two-vehicle accident occurred Sunday at the intersection of Roosevelt and Bradford in the Highpoint Area, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Largo motorist collided with a bicycle on Roosevelt Boulevard Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Quinten Canty, 25, of Clearwater was riding his Mt. Fury Bicycle on Roosevelt near the intersection with Bradford Street. Canty tried to cross Roosevelt and failed to yield to oncoming westbound traffic, according to the accident report. Canty went into the path of the Mercedes driven by Anastasios F. Poulakis, 58, of Largo. The bicycle crashed into the front of the car, according to the accident report. Canty was injured critically and transported to Largo Medical Center, where he died from the injuries sustained in the crash, according to the report. The incident remains under investigation. The bicyclist died Thursday afternoon following a Sunday night collision with a van.
After colliding with a van, a cyclist was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening head injuries Sunday night. Roger L. Hiers passed away Thursday afternoon at the hospital, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's office. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, according to a news release. A bicycle rode northbound into the path of a van on Park Street Sunday night, according to sheriff's deputies.
A 54-year-old bicyclist was hit by a van, when the cyclist rode into the path of the vehicle Sunday night on Park Street near Burning Tree in Seminole, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The accident occurred around 11:25 p.m. on March 18 when bicyclist Roger Hiers, of Gibsonton, headed north on Park Street and rode into John Collins of St. Petersburg's van, according to deputies. An ambulance transported Hiers to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening head injuries. Collins was not injured in the accident, according to a news release.
