A Clearwater man is accused of battering a woman and trying to take her purse at a Largo apartment complex, Largo Police report.
A Clearwater man is accused of attempting to steal his ex-girlfriend's purse, grabbing her hair and her body, pushing and punching her, Largo Police said. According to an arrest affidavit, David Michael Eustace, 36, was sitting in the car of a Largo apartment complex Jan. 28 with his ex-girlfriend, who reportedly owed Eustace money. When the woman tried to get out of the car, Eustace allegedly "chased after her and attempted to rip her purse off of her shoulder in an effort to get her money. (Eustace) then proceeded to batter the victim by grabbing her hair and pushing her in an effort to get the purse," police report. The suspect's ex-girlfriend ran up the stairs. A Largo man was arrested Jan. 5 on the charge of aggravated domestic battery, police report.
A Largo man is accused of allegedly throwing a woman into a wall, which reportedly caused a "deep" cut over her left eye and took off part of her eyebrow, according to Largo Police. According to the victim's statement in the arrest affidavit, James Dale Cox, 40, of Largo, "threw (the victim) into a wall because she wanted to go out with friends and (Cox) had jealousy issues." The "deep" estimated 1-inch cut, "also took off part of her eyebrow, which will require stitches," police report. When Largo Police questioned Cox, he denied touching the woman and reportedly told them the woman "fell in the bedroom on an uncovered outlet due to her level of intoxication," police report. A St. Petersburg man returned to a Largo neighborhood a week after he got into a fight and injured two people, according to Largo Police. This time, they say, he had marijuana and cocaine.
A week after allegedly getting into a fight that left two people injured, police arrested a man who they say returned to the same Largo neighborhood a week later, this time with drugs. According to Largo Police, Calvin Donnell Swain, 20, of St. Petersburg, failed to initially stop for police early Wednesday morning when they attempted to pull him over at the intersection of South Pines and Tall Pines drive. Then, they say, he ran out of his car and threw a bag with a "leafy green substance" and another bag with a "white rock substance" on the ground before he was taken into custody.
