Largo Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a bank robbery Wednesday on Ulmerton Road. Ronald J. Massey, 30, is charged with armed robbery after authorities said he flashed a knife and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Fifth Third Bank at 11281 Ulmerton Rd. on Wednesday afternoon, officials said. Massey is also being charged with strong armed robbery in connection with a Dec. 14 incident at BB&T Bank, 14141 Walsingham Rd., in Largo, according to police. A $1,000 reward had been offered for information leading to his capture. After a series of bank robberies in the Largo area, two suspects are now in custody at the Pinellas County Jail.
Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives think they have found the suspects behind at least one recent Wells Fargo Bank robbery. The Wells Fargo Bank on Park Boulevard in Seminole was robbed on Jan. 9. A fingerprint found at the crime scene came back as a match to Nathan Blisard, 29, of Largo, according to a media release. Blisard was located Jan. 11 around 1 p.m., driving a dark-colored Mustang, near the intersection of Starkey Road and 76th Avenue North in Seminole. He was arrested on the charge of robbery, according to a media release. His girlfriend, Meaghan Zimmer, 23, of Largo, was located at a residence nearby. The Wells Fargo Bank on Park Boulevard in Seminole was robbed around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives report. The suspect entered the bank at 130999 Park Blvd. in Seminole and presented a note to a teller demanding cash, according to a media release. The suspect "implied he had a gun. However, no weapon was seen," a sheriff's media release states. The suspect was described as a white male with short-brown hair, who is approximately 6-foot-2. The suspect is described as a white male, who is approximately 6-feet, 4-inches tall. He appeared to weigh between 170 and 180 pounds. Crimestoppers announced a reward for tips leading to arrest of a Largo bank robbery suspect, according to a news release.
Crimestoppers is now offering a reward to help identify the suspect in a Dec. 14 Largo bank robbery, according to a news release. Largo Police say that a man robbed the BB&T Bank on Walsingham Road. The robbery happened at 9:11 a.m. at 14141 Walsingham Road, according to a news release. The suspect is described as 25-30 years old with a thin build and about 5-feet, 9-inches tall. He fled the bank on foot. Police think the man was hanging around the Publix at 12022 Indian Rocks Road before the robbery occured, police report.
