A man accused of robbing three Largo businesses in the past two days at knifepoint on an apparent county-wide crime spree is behind bars after authorities said he rammed a deputy's cruiser in Dunedin on Tuesday. According to Largo Police, Michael Roger Bourdeau, 45, committed three robberies Monday and Tuesday in Largo, each time displaying a knife and demanding cash. Authorities also accuse Bourdeau of committing similar crimes in Clearwater — where police say he robbed the Blew Chocolate Hair Salon, 2140 Drew St. — and Oldsmar on Tuesday. A suspect wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies at Pinellas and Pasco county pharmacies was arrested after a short car chase through Clearwater Thursday afternoon.
A suspect wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies at Pinellas and Pasco county pharmacies was arrested after a short car chase in Clearwater Thursday afternoon. Joseph Thomas Young, 37, was seen by Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies driving a silver sedan in Safety Harbor around 3 p.m. As deputies followed him, he sped off, according to investigators. Deputies went in pursuit of Young. The chase ended a short time later when Young crashed the stolen car off U.S. 19, south of Enterprise Rd., according to investigators. Young tried to flee on foot but was quickly found. A BB gun was found inside the vehicle along with numerous narcotic pills that Young admitted to stealing from area pharmacies, according to police. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for some help to identify a suspect wanted in connection with seven armed restaurant robberies in three different counties, including a Pizza Hut in the Clearwater/Largo area nearly two months ago. The spree began in September as a single armed robbery at a Gunn Highway Papa John’s. It has since grown to include a number of robberies in Hillsborough County, the Pizza Hut in Pinellas and one in Hernando. The suspect has only targeted pizza and fast-food restaurants to date. The suspect is accused of attempted armed robbery at a local bicycle shop.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office would appreciate your help identifying the suspect accused of attempting to rob the owner of D&S Bicycle Shop on Walsingham with a handgun on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. The bike shop owner, Daniel Block, was standing outside his store when the unknown suspect approached him and allegedly shoved a gun in Block's stomach. Then the suspect reportedly "demanded Block give him his wallet", according to a news release. A struggle ensued and Block was allegedly hit in the head several times with the handgun, according to a news release. The suspect fled the scene without taking any of Block's property.
