pile of junk, doesn't return phone calls or emails, says he is going to ship me parts and never follows up. Mike Akin is a ripoff.

Speedster Motor Car Company specializes in replica classic car production, particularly new-classic hot rod design, with attention in other areas as needed by client specifications. Speedster produces kit car replicas. Speedster stands by its products, pointing out that a replica will be much more reliably constructed than a refurbished original. By far, Speedster's most popular vehicle is the Classic Boattail Speedster, a replica of the famed 1935 Auburn 851 that adorns the side of Speedster's building in a giant mural. Speedster is located on 10th St. SE in Largo, off of Ulmerton Rd. just east of Seminole Blvd.

I ordered an auburn speedster in 2010. Was told it would take six months but instead it took over a year. Car was test driven 1 mile. When car was delivered brakes failed, transmission fluid leaked, windows didn't work, electrical system did not work, and wasn't the right color we picked, door handle fell of the first day, front end had to be relined. I also payed for step plates which was never received. Should I go on...

Mike Akins . He was building that steel blue boattail when I went to check on the status of my car. It had been 3 months and he was supposed to be halfway finished. He had not even started on my car but wanted more money (so he could finish the steel blue car). I demanded my money back and he said "sue me and get in line". I see him on youtube now in North Carolina. He's bad news. Do not give him any money.
