This Week in Largo: Property Tax Rate, Crafternoons, Virtual Dementia Tour

Here's a quick look at what's happening in Largo this week.

City Commission Meets

City leaders are expected to give final approval on the property tax rate and adopt the budget for the next year at the City Commission meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 201 Highland Ave NE.Check out the agenda here. The meetings can be watched online here.

Crafternoons

Learn how to make handmade crafts and gifts during the Crafternoons at Largo Public Library at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the library, 120 Central Park Drive. Each month participants learn a different, easy craft to create. Find out more here.

Take An Alzheimer's Tour 


Find out what it feels like to have Alzheimer's or dementia at the Virtual Dementia Tour at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Grand Villa of Largo, 750 Starkey Road. The tour is designed to build awareness and sensitivity for caregivers. Find out more here.

Would You Cluck for Free Chicken?

That’s the question Pollo Tropical plans to get an answer to on Monday, Sept. 16. In honor of National Chicken Lover’s Day, the eatery is offering a free lunch to patrons who come in dressed head to toe in yellow. There’s another catch: You have to be willing to cluck for a meal.
