Largo Teen Idol Winner to Appear Tonight on NBC's 'The Voice'

Dunedin's Nathalie Hernandez is scheduled to appear on the reality singing competition, which airs at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1.

A former Largo Teen Idol winner is putting her singing talents on display tonight, Oct. 1, on NBC's "The Voice."

Dunedin High student Nathalie Hernandez is scheduled to appear on tonight's episode of the reality signing competition, according to Jamie Munns, the family and community liaison at San Jose Elementary, Hernandez's former school.

The Dunedin singer and songwriter, who won the 2011 Largo Teen Idol competition as a 14-year-old, told a Yahoo! blogger last year that she wrote her first song at age 11. "I write and play because it's how I express how I feel," she said in the interview. "I'm not selfish or overconfident, I just want to play my music and hope that other people can relate to it."
