City Waives Some Impact Fees to Encourage Residential Development

As of June 1, the city will not collect parkland impact or facility capital improvement fees for residential development.

“We are seeing activity in the residential market,” said Carol Stricklin, Largo Community Development Director, “and the City of Largo is seeking to remove barriers to project feasibility.”

Previously developers of multi-family housing in Largo were paying $1,800 to $2,600 per unit in parkland and capital facilities impact fees.

We are building a ," said Rick Cavalieri of Norstar Development. "This (moratorium) will certainly help the funding for our project."
