A man accused of taking a purse in January was found guilty of strong armed robbery by a judge on Sept. 28 and sentenced to just more than 42 months in prison, according to the Largo Police Facebook page.
Jesse T. Carlisle, of Largo, was accused of allegedly "forcibly" taking a 68-year-old woman's purse from a cart in the parking lot of Publix on Indian Rocks Road on Dec. 30. Carlisle then returned to the grocery store a couple times and allegedly tried to use debit and gift cards from the victim's purse, according to a previous report on Largo Patch.
From witness descriptions, the Largo Police identified and located Carlisle. He was arrested Jan. 5 on the charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, failure to appear for carrying a concealed weapon, strong armed robbery, 22 counts of uttering a forged instrument, grand theft from a person 65 years or older, uttering forged bills, grand theft and fraudulent use of personal identification, according to a post on the Largo Police Facebook page.
While in jail, Carlisle was charged with introduction/possession of a controlled substance in a detention facility, according to police.
