Largo Police have arrested and charged Jamie Ramseur with attempted felony murder of a law enforcement among several other charges. Two police officers and two bystanders were allegedly assaulted by Ramseur after she was found with a stolen car.

A Largo woman has been charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer after she allegedly bit an officer and ran over his leg while he was attempting to shut off the stolen car she was in.

Police said Jamie Ramseur, 27, of 13614 120th St. N., also faces a litany of charges: resisting arrest with violence, felony hit and run with injuries, fleeing and eluding, violation of probation, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a revoked drivers license, possession of crack cocaine, grand theft, resisting without violence, felony hit and run with property damage, reckless driving and open container.

According to Largo Police, the incident began when the officer checked the tags on a vehicle at the Super AM convenience store, 1595 Seminole Blvd., when its two occupants went inside the store.

At this point, police say Ramseur ran to the vehicle and tried to leave.

In trying to stop Ramseur, the officer tried to get to the keys to turn off the
engine but was bitten on the arm by Ramseur. She continued to flee in the stolen vehicle and then struck a dumpster, a potted plant area, another vehicle and two individuals.

According to the police report, as the officer continued to try to remove the keys from the vehicle, Ramseur ran over the officer's lower leg, causing him to fall back, striking his head.

The injured officer radioed for medical assistance and also was able to provide a description of the stolen vehicle. Two of the several officers responding observed the suspect in the area of Seminole Boulevard and Fifth Avenue Southwest.

Ramseur then allegedly proceeded to flee the scene and try to hide the vehicle with its lights off between two parked cars in a residential area but was located by another officer.

As the second officer was trying to get Ramseur out of the vehicle, he was thrown back and almost pinned between two vehicles. Ramseur began to flee again in the vehicle, police said.

According to the police report, Ramseur then crashed the stolen vehicle in the front yard of a residence a short distance away and fled on foot. A police
K9 team was able to track and apprehend Ramseur, who was found
hiding behind some trees in the backyard of a residence about a quarter mile away from the crash.

According to Pinellas County Jail records, Ramseur has been arrested more than 13 times previously. Her previous charges include possession of cocaine with intent to sell, battery, tampering with evidence and theft.

She also previously had more than two dozen drug charges against her.

Largo police are still trying to identify the man who was with Ramseur in the stolen vehicle when it was first observed.
