Police: Man Can't Sell Drugs, Tries to Steal Money Instead

When the victim turned down the drugs, the man demanded her cash, police say.

A Clearwater man who could not sell drugs to a woman tried to steal money from her instead, according to Largo Police.

Marcus Shane Slayman, 22, of Clearwater, was invited to the victim’s house Sept. 4, according to investigators.

While inside, Slayman tried to sell her drugs. However she said ‘no,’ according to police.

The victim, who is not being named because of the nature of the incident, and Slayman were in her bedroom when he then told her to give him all her money. She thought he was joking and said no.

That’s when Slayman pushed her to the ground and took two $100 bills that were in her bra area. Slayman then started hitting her with his fist. He grabbed a knife, waved it by her face and told her to give him the rest of her money, according to investigators.

Slayman then took $30 and 10mg Ambien pills from her purse. He also took her iPhone and told her not to call the police as he left with the phone.

Slayman was arrested and charged with tampering with a victim and robbery with a deadly weapon.

He is in jail awaiting trial on $55,000 bond.
