A Largo man was arrested and charged with attempted sexual battery with a deadly weapon after using a knife to cut off a woman’s dress while her young daughter was present.

Juan Antonio Rodriquez, 27, used a knife to cut the clothes off the woman before trying to force himself on her while her 5-year old daughter was in the room, according to Largo Police.

Rodriguez got into an argument with the woman, who is not being identified because of the nature of the crime, after she packed his bags and told him to move out July 20, police said.

The woman pushed Rodriguez's hands away several times during the fight, police said.

Rodriguez stopped only when the woman’s 5-year old daughter opened the door and tried to leave the room. That is because other people were in the living room, police said.

Rodriguez was arrested and charged with attempted sexual battery with a deadly weapon. He is in jail awaiting trial.
