A Seminole man died after crashing his motorcycle on the Indian Rocks Causeway on Labor Day.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office still is investigating the motorcycle crash that did not involve any other vehicle just before 8 p.m. Monday night.

The operator of the 2000 Kawasaki 1100 Supersport, Jacob Austin Scott, 26, of Seminole, died as a result of the injuries, according to investigators.

The investigation is ongoing but "speed appears to be a contributing factor," officials said in a release.

According to investigators, Scott had a suspended driver license.

The Patrol Operations Bureau and Major Accident Investigation Team continue to investigate the incident.

If anyone has any information regarding the crash, call Sgt. Ryan Buckley at 727-582-6200.
