Man Sought in Largo Shooting Incident Surrenders, Authorities Say

A man who allegedly shot a neighbor in the hand Saturday turned himself into authorities on Sunday, according to a news release.

Saturday evening Tommy David Preston, 47, allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a loaded gun and alledgedly shot a neighbor in the hand, according to a news release.

The shooting followed a dispute over the attention the neighbor was reportedly giving Preston's girlfriend, according to a news release.

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies say Preston contacted his girlfriend Sunday morning and told her he wanted to turn himself in to deputies. 

With information provided by Preston's girlfriend, Deputy Terry Trautman contacted Preston, and further encouraged him to surrender. The two met at a location in the parking lot of the Criminal Justice complex off of 49th Street. Preston was taken into custody at around noon Sunday without further incident, and charged, according to a news release.

Preston was arrested on the charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, 
domestic battery and aggravated assault - domestic. He is in the Pinellas County Jail.
