Man Shot in Hand Following Dispute Over a Woman, Authorities Say

Saturday evening a Largo resident was reportedly shot in the hand by a neighbor and the suspect fled, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

A man was shot reportedly in the hand during a dispute between Clay Avenue neighbors around 6 p.m. on Oct. 13, according to a news release.

According to deputies, Tommy "Buzz" Preston, 47, allegedly threatened his girlfriend, Alicia Hornak, with a loaded gun and allegedly shot Johnny J. Holdcroft in the left hand following a dispute over the attention Holdcroft was reportedly giving Hornak.

Preston fled the scene after the shooting, possibly on a motorcycle, according to authorities.

Rescue personnel transported Holdcroft in an ambulance to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
