Man Sentenced in Largo Mom's Drive-By Shooting Death

Annie Conyers was 26 years old and the mother of two young children when she was killed outside a grocery store.

A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 42 years prison for fatally shooting Annie Conyers of Largo in 2010.

Larry Joe Jerry Jr. pleaded guilty to second degree murder in Conyers' death. The 26-year-old single mother of two was shot as she stood outside with a group of women at the Rainbow Food Mart, according to Bay News 9.

Conyers, a nursing student, was not the target, and authorities had described the incident as a drive-by shooting.

Jerry was arrested in December 2010. On Thursday, July 11, 2013, he entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to prison.

A trust fund for Conyers' children has been set up in her name at the Achiva Federal Credit Union.
