A Largo man made up that he was robbed of $1500 in order to pay off his wife's drug dealer.

Edmund Theodore Lovesky told he was robbed at gun point at Regions Bank in Largo around 8:20 a.m. on August 3.

The 53-year-old told officers that he was taken from his apartment, put into a van and forced to withdraw $1500 at gun point from the ATM at Region Bank's drive thru, according to the arrest report.

He later admitted that he was not robbed and he made up it up.

He withdrew the money himself to pay off his wife's drug dealer, who according to the report, was getting crack cocaine for Lovesky and his wife.

Officers found a rock of crack cocaine on Lovesky when they arrested him. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and reporting a false crime.

The total cost to the police department for officers investigating this incident is $100.
