Man Caught With a Meal in His Pants Pockets, Police Say

The 70-year-old man left a Largo Publix on Friday with a sandwich, dessert and beverage stuffed in his pants pockets, which he allegedly did not buy, according to an arrest affidavit.

A St. Petersburg man was arrested Friday afternoon after he was caught leaving a Largo grocery store with a meal in his pockets that he didn't pay for, police said.

Leo Bernard Fink, 70, "concealed" a Cuban sandwich, strawberry parfait and a 12-ounce beer in his pants pockets and walked out of the Publix at 5000 East Bay Drive, allegedly without paying for the items, according to an arrest affidavit.

The grocer's loss prevention department stopped Fink and called the Largo Police Department. The suspect invoked his Miranda rights. The incident was apparently captured on video, according to the affidavit.
