Largo Man Arrested For Unlawful Sexual Activity With Minor

Andre N. Vea, 28, of Largo, was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual activity with a 17-year-old female.  Vea was arrested at his home at the 1800 block of Deborah Avenue on Tuesday.

Detectives began investigating Vea’s involvement with the minor on Saturday, Nov. 5. When patrol deputies responded to allegations that the minor was engaged in sexual activity with a 28-year-old man since August 2011, officials said.

The victim told detectives that the relationship with Vea began as friendship and eventually became sexual, officials said. During this time she stated they were using prescriptions together, officials said.

Detectives said the victim told deputies about the relationship after she began stealing from her mother to support her addiction.  Vea, who is also known as Tony Vea, was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

According to Florida law it is unlawful for a person 24 years or older to have an intimate relationship with a person under 18 years of age, Nestor said. 

Detectives believe the suspect may have other victims of similar crimes that have not been reported. They are asking anyone with information about the suspect to contact Det.
