Largo Fire Rescue Chaplain Dies

Fire Chaplain Paul Pierce has passed away, the department announced this week.

The beloved chaplain for Largo Fire Rescue has died, according to a post on the department's Facebook page Thursday.

Fire Chaplain Paul Pierce, who served with the department since 2001, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, according to the department.

"He will be sorely missed, but his influence will never be forgotten. Please keep Chaplain Pierce's family in your thoughts and prayers," the department posted.

According to the City of Largo's website, arrangements are as follows:

Viewing and visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Mohn Fineral Home, 9700 Seminole Blvd., Seminole, FL, 33772; 727-393-3481.

The memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11220 Oakhurst Rd., Largo, FL, 33774; 727-595-2117. Services will begin at 11 a.m.

Flowers can be sent to Mohn Funeral Home, and the family has requested that any donations be made to Suncoast Hospice in Pierce's memory, according to the city's website.
