Hit and Run Fatality Suspect Arrested

A Largo man was arrested on Friday night in relation to an accident that occurred in July.

Todd Kershaw, 39, was arrested for leaving the scene of a traffic crash that resulted in death. 

After months of investigating tips and following leads, officials gathered enough probable cause to arrest the Largo resident.

The accident occurred on July 8 around 1am when a vehicle described as a dark sedan struck a pedestrian who was crossing Park Boulevard near 110th Lane in Seminole. According to the news release, the victim was not using a crosswalk when the incident occurred. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle left the scene.

The victim, Edin Deleon, 24, was struck by a second vehicle while lying in the road. The second vehicle stopped and waited for authorities to arrive.

Deleon was treated at the scene then rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounce deceased.

Kershaw is being held at the Pinellas County jail with a bond of $100,000.
