Cyclist Died After Being Injured in Late Night Seminole Crash

The bicyclist died Thursday afternoon following a Sunday night collision with a van.

After colliding with a van, a cyclist was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening head injuries Sunday night. Roger L. Hiers passed away Thursday afternoon at the hospital, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's office.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, according to a news release.

The 54-year-old bicyclist rode into the path of a vehicle Sunday night on Park Street near Burning Tree in Seminole, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The accident occurred around 11:25 p.m. on March 18 when bicyclist Hiers, of Gibsonton, headed north on Park Street and rode into John Collins of St. Petersburg's van, according to deputies.

Collins was not injured in the accident, according to a news release.

Deputies said the crash area was not very well lit. Investigators said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash on the part of the bicyclist. There were no signs of impairment on the part of the vehicle driver, according to the sheriff's office.

The investigation is ongoing.

As usual government lied to us. They said if we switch over to reclaimed we will have water forRead More lawns whenever we wanted!!!!! NOT!!! Plus they didin't tell us that we would probably have to replace all valves in sprinkler system shortly after because this water isn't as clean and destroys them. You then have to put in different ones to accommodate the grit etc in the water. Same with the heads those little screens get clogged a lot more and need service more. So much for SAViNG $$$$$$ NOT
