A Clearwater woman left children alone for as long as 16 hours some days, according to Largo Police.

A Clearwater woman left children alone for as long as 16 hours some days, according to Largo Police.

Deshawna Lashae Mansfield, 25, of Clearwater, left two children at home from 6:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. some nights during the summer, according to investigators.

Manfield went to work at Emeritus at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 20 when police investigated. They also found oxycodone left in an open bedroom drawer, easily accessible by the children, according to the arrest report.

Mansfield was arrested and charged with child neglect. She was released on $2,000 bond.
