Why does`nt everyone know CPR?

I can not think of a better way to protect your loved ones.

Its that time of year for all the great outdoor activities, swimming, boating, biking.

If we knew when someone was going to drown,, or have a heart attack, we could plan for it. But that's not how it works.

I worked as a firefighter for over 25 years. Last night I was asked what was the worst call I had ever been on. Bad question. simply put, no one ever called 911 to invite us to a party. Nuf said.

Too many times, we would arrive on a call and find a person      (any age) laying on the ground not breathing and no one doing CPR. They had thought about taking a class, but never got around to it. Or they thought it may be too expensive or too time consuming. Or I never thought it could happen to us. Too many times, it does.

It only took us 5 minutes to get to your house, it seems like 5 hours. It might as well have. Five minutes of no breathing or CPR.

They were the worst calls.
