SPCA Tampa Bay currently has several Diamond Doves available for adoption! They are native to Australia, but do very well living in captivity. In the wild they live in flocks, so it is recommended to keep at least two in captivity. Tame Diamodnd Doves can be very sweet, affectionate pets that enjoy being held by their owners. Diamond Doves live from 3-5 years in the wild, but in captivity their lifespan can be 15-25 years. They also enjoy fresh vegetables and greens in addition to a seed diet. Diamond doves enjoy walking around, so a flat bottomed cage instead of a wire one is a better choice. Diamond Doves tend to make a gentle cooing call to each other, and many people who keep them find it very relaxing. Come down and meet our Diamond Doves today!
