The
Drifters first release in 1959 was There Goes My Baby and this was the beginning
of what is generally acknowledged as the Golden Years of the Drifters. Other
hits included Save the Last Dance for Me. In 1988, Charlie Thomas along with the
original members were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The
Legendary Teenagers were the first rock ‘n’ roll/pop group to succeed
internationally and they continue to perform throughout the world. The
youngsters proved that teens could sing their own music and smash through social
and ethnic barriers. Their first million selling hit Why Do Fools Fall in Love
inspired and opened doors for many artists in yesterday and today’s music world.

They were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1993; in 1994 they
received a “star” on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The group was inducted in the
Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000 and in 2002; they were inducted into the Doo
Wop Hall of Fame of America.

The multitalented Jay Siegel is best known
for his soaring falsetto on the classic song, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, one of
the biggest hit songs of all time. Other major hits include He’s in Town, I Hear
Trumpets Blow and Portrait of My Love. Jay Siegel and The Tokens have also
produced many American pop classics including The Chiffons’ One Fine Day and
He’s So Fine, Randy and the Rainbows’ Denise, Tony Orlando and Dawn’s Candida,
Knock Three Times and Tie a Yellow Ribbon.

Formed in New Haven, Fred
Parris and The Satins recorded In the Still of the Night in 1956 and charted at
#3 on the R&B chart and #25 on the pop charts. It sold more than one million
copies. In 2003, The Five Satins were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of
Fame.

Shirley Alston Reeves is the original lead singer for The
Shirelles. They became known throughout the world when they placed six singles
in the top ten that have become classics, I Met Him on A Sunday, Sha La La,
Baby, It’s You, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Mama Said, Tonight’s The Night,
This Is Dedicated To The One I Love, Foolish Little Girl and of course, the
groups five million selling hit Soldier Boy. In 1996, Shirley Alston Reeves was
inducted into The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The Dixie Cups, consisting
of sisters Barbara Ann and Rosa Lee Hawkins, plus their cousin Joan Marie
Johnson, hit the top of the charts in 1964 with Chapel of Love, a song that Phil
Spector, Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich wrote. It went to #1, sold more than one
million copies and was awarded a gold disc. Other hit songs they recorded
include People Say, You Should Have Seen the Way He Looked at Me, Iko Iko and
Little Bell. In 2007, they were inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.


With the blessing of original lead singer, Johnny Maestro, Tommy Mara
took over the lead singing duties and today Tommy Mara and The Crests continue
to wow audiences around the world performing many hit songs, included 16
Candles, which rose to #2 on the Billboard chart and sold more than one million
copies.
