Seabird Rescue Facility Coming to Largo?

Largo could place a rehab center at McGough Park that would be run by Suncoast Bird Rescue, but any decision is far off, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

A new seabird rescue facility could come to Largo's McGough Park, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Largo parks superintendent Greg Brown has had talks with the nonprofit group Suncoast Bird Rescue about placing a rehab center at the park on 146th Street, according to the Times, but:

Any agreement is far down the road, he said, and would require the City Commission's approval but the idea is that Largo would provide the land and that Suncoast Bird Rescue would provide everything else.

The news comes not long after the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in Indian Shores stopped taking in injured birds because of various financial trouble.

Robin Vergara, a former sanctuary employee, heads up Suncoast Bird Rescue, one of several groups hoping to fill the void.

As usual government lied to us. They said if we switch over to reclaimed we will have water forRead More lawns whenever we wanted!!!!! NOT!!! Plus they didin't tell us that we would probably have to replace all valves in sprinkler system shortly after because this water isn't as clean and destroys them. You then have to put in different ones to accommodate the grit etc in the water. Same with the heads those little screens get clogged a lot more and need service more. So much for SAViNG $$$$$$ NOT
