Thorntons Opening Soon in Largo

The convenience store and gas station is set to open Dec. 30, according to a company spokeswoman.

Thorntons, a new gas station and convenience store, will open Dec. 30 in Largo, according to company spokeswoman Erin Jones.

Construction crews continue to work on the store at the northeast corner of the intersection of Ulmerton and Starkey roads.

The Largo Thorntons is part of the planned expansion of the chain into the Tampa Bay market. Thorntons has 166 locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

Thorntons is known for its wide selection of fountain drinks where customers can add a choice of flavor shots and choose different types of ice.

Thorntons is one of a few new gas stations planned currently around Largo.

A Wawa is planned for the southeast corner of the intersection of Ulmerton and Starkey roads, which is diagonally across the street from the Thorntons.

A new 7-Eleven is expected to open in December at the busy corner of East Bay Drive and North Missouri Avenue.

I read in the paper that our governor turned down federal funds for mosquito eradication. DoesRead More anyone know if our mosquito control units are underfunded from this terrible decision by Governor Dumb-a-ss?

As usual government lied to us. They said if we switch over to reclaimed we will have water forRead More lawns whenever we wanted!!!!! NOT!!! Plus they didin't tell us that we would probably have to replace all valves in sprinkler system shortly after because this water isn't as clean and destroys them. You then have to put in different ones to accommodate the grit etc in the water. Same with the heads those little screens get clogged a lot more and need service more. So much for SAViNG $$$$$$ NOT
